Everyone knows how I feel about social media. I wrote the first book on how to unaddict yourself from it. It’s called Social Media Rehab and you can get a copy of it at SocialMedia.rehab. Since I wrote the book, I have maintained a personal page for the purpose of trolling people to use as content for this project and also to manage pages associated with brands I own or am involved in.
People in general are ignorant about money, so it’s no surprise that generations coming up are having problems with it. It’s almost a waste of breath to even talk about it because it seems so basic to someone like me, but it’s really not basic based on the numbers. Bankrate.com says 68% of Americans save little or nothing. Yes, there is disparity in our country and in the world, but the problem is not that people who are poor that do not save, the problem is that people that have money don’t save either.
If you follow my content, you know that I haven’t produced a podcast in over 3 months. There is a good reason for that. I’m focusing. Social media and all of the media that this instant gratification culture consumes will have you believe that greatness is achieved overnight or the second you throw on a bunch of face tattoos and brand yourself.
