I hear stories all the time about people that feel trapped in their situations. Marriages, relationships, creative situations, jobs, debt. You name it, people are stuck or feel stuck. I have felt stuck many times in my life. Even though my life seems great to other people who observe it, I also feel stuck many times. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, you are always going to find yourself stuck in a situation.
If you’ve listened to my podcast on The Reality of the World Traveler Fantasy, you know I have opinions on all the dopamine chasers that want to travel the world endlessly. Living and working out of my camper, I can definitely see the upside of doing that. You get to have “freedom”. You get to experience new things on a daily basis and you’re not tethered to miserable work-life existence.
If you listen to my podcast you can see that my episodes are very focused. I like this format because it forces me to put all of my thoughts into coherent points, so I'm not just ranting. I do think there is some value in ranting though...The first forty or so episodes of my podcast I never released and they were in the ranting format.
When I woke up this morning, I think I had a nightmare about another Fake Artist making it big. Then words flashed through my head that Donald Trump said in a speech about creating luck. He also mentioned that some people are just "unlucky". I agree with the creating luck part. I think Donald saying some people are just "unlucky" is his way of subjugating the section of the population that gives up on stuff.
People post meme quotes that make unsubstantiated statements all over the internet to make themselves feel better. For example, "There is nothing new under the sun". People use jargon like this because they don't want to put in the deep work and effort required to create something new. There is in fact a lot of things that have never been done before. As I discuss in my podcast the 10 myths people perpetuate to make themselves feel better, Elon Musk's company Space X is planning a manned mission to Mars. That has never been done before.
I would say about 70% of the people I have met traveling would do so forever if given the opportunity. They are victims of the escapism mentality. I talk about it in my podcast The Reality of the World Traveler Fantasy about the people who are "long term global travelers". They're jaded, disconnected and their only life experience is experiencing life's experiences.
It's not unusual to feel overwhelmed, regardless of who you are. We all have stress in our lives. It doesn't ever seem to go away either. When we accomplish one task, we are furnished with a new one to tackle. If we don't accomplish that task we feel stressed. If we get stressed, we feel like we don't want to take any action.
I purchase subscriptions to all of the digital platforms such as Spotify and Pandora because enduring ads ultimately become mind pollution. I did this a few days ago with YouTube. They have a service called Red which allows you to play all videos ad-free for $9.99 a month. A small price to pay in my opinion.
I love looking at the numbers because they always tell the story. What you're doing right, what you're doing wrong, you know the drill. So in analyzing the numbers from my recent facebook campaign targeting females on dating apps, one of my videos performed better than the other. So which one was it?
I finished my second online course, it's called The Dating App Makeover. It's directed specifically at women looking to improve their online dating app presence to attract more high value males. I'm pretty satisfied with it and I think it can help a lot of women out there who are looking to improve. The long and short of it is that women really don't know how men think or what turns them on and off as it relates to these platforms.
If you are truly creative and let your mind stray without constrictions, you are going to create a shit load of art. It's actually really easy to do. If you're an artist and you experience "writer's block" it means that you are not creating using the right medium. For example, sometimes I have a lot on my mind and want to podcast. Sometimes after a night of excessive drinking I work on visual art or some sort of manual task. This is how my mind copes with that "block".
It's kind of funny to even make that statement "What the future of dating apps should look like" because dating apps were once the future. Although I don't believe in them, I do know how they work and what people, especially women, should be doing on these apps to attract a viable mate. The problem with these apps is not their intent, but the way in which they are trying to bring two people together. Both the processes and outcomes are almost always mismatched. You have a certain thing in mind and then someone totally different shows up.
My first online course, which I have properly named Social Media Dope Fiend Rehab is now live! I will probably play with the pricing and advertisements over the coming weeks, but the bottom line is, it is there for the taking! Basically the goal in this course is to reprogram your mind to understand that you do not need social media in your life and that is actually harming your personal evolution
The phenomena of things "going viral" is a myth. There have been books written about this already, so it's nothing new. People want to believe that things just happen organically, but they don't. People who make videos that go viral had a unique skill that was showcased in the right place, which then became the catalyst for their "viral" success.
In my podcast I mention how media outlets look stupid for the interviews they did with Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, twenty plus years ago. They were basically making fun of him for his outlandish idea of having a bookstore online. Even he will tell you that he never imagined it would get as big as it did. Needless to say, Amazon has become the Leviathan retailer that stretches into tons of businesses and even has it's own airline now.
A significant amount of the artist population is depressed or has experienced it at some point. The same could probably be said about the population at large. Depression is caused by a variety of criteria.
It blows my mind how much people get the right things wrong. If you go to a Home Depot in America all you see on the air conditioner aisle is geared toward inefficiency. The window units, the portable units, none of these things are utilizing America's best and brightest technologies to make the world a better place.
It's no secret that instrument sales have been on the decline globally. Listen to any radio station and you can understand why. The youth are gravitating towards easier paths to success through their music by utilizing digital means of production such as laptops and interfaces.
I really haven't done that in a while, so this weekend dad and I are going camping in the Airstream. No plans really, but I have all the gear and we don't even need a campground because I have a generator.
I was looking at some of my pictures from Mexico just now and saw some I took out at Lake Bacalar when I chartered a boat. I invited a family to come with me on this boat as a kind gesture. I think ultimately, I just wanted to sleep with the hot Mexican daughter, but I was also okay if that didn't happen.
I got ghosted again, surprise! This time it was from this gal that was a holdover from a dating app. After I decided to stop using these apps, she and I were already in communication. And since I never let an opportunity to get laid fall by the wayside, I entertained her one-word text responses only to entertain myself.
I don't think I'm going to have enough time to do everything I want in my lifetime. So what's important? Honestly? Nothing. None of it is really important. At the end of the day it's all just people and events squished into a timeline. You can bring meaning to anything you want. That's the power of the brand.
As I mentioned in the Shit You Can Automate to Improve your life podcast, if you're going to run a business, you're going to need to delegate. So what's it going to be? Are you going to post an ad on Upwork.com to outsource your video editing? Are you going to utilize a system like Landr. to master your audio and podcasting files?
People inherently don't want to work, even when they find something that interests them. This is why so many people are addicted to substances. It provides an effortless dopamine hit that does not require any work to achieve.
I read a pretty heart wrenching post on Quora about a user that created a fake profile posing as a good looking female to see how people would respond to the exact same questions and responses he had as a normal male.
To no surprise, everyone gave an exponential amount of praise to this fake female.
Various people I know have listened to my podcast or discovered it. Of course opinions fly when anyone from your past wants to stay exactly the same. You're not supposed to though because evolution is about breaking the shell.
In the short term, breaking the shell causes pain and discomfort, but you don't really have a choice but to endure it and keep moving forward.
My friend messaged me and asked how he could get setup to podcast.
I always go to the extreme in just about everything that I do but for those who are just trying to get their plane off the ground here are some things I recommend if you want to start podcasting. I am going to make this specific to how I podcast.
I discussed this in the 14 things a Real Artist Does podcast. But, in reading a book recently it makes me cringe how much what I'm being told goes against what I want to do. I only read books to gather knowledge or perspective that I may or may not have. Most of it is valid, but at times rules have to be broken to establish your own order.
