The general populous mostly has to be entertained or pacified before they are educated. In other words, I have to sit on the hood of an exotic car in my YouTube video like a #fakeguru before you will listen to me about how to make money. Or I have to be sitting in the grotto at the Playboy mansion surrounded by women before you will listen to me about how to pick up women.
I talk about Art vs. Product allot. The fact that when you create a lot of art, some of it inevitably turns into product. Product is art that resonates with the marketplace that you can monetize. For example, I did a podcast on the Things gals need to remove from their dating apps immediately. That became so popular that I decided to make a online course on it called The Dating App Makeover, which I will inevitably turn into a book.
There is a huge difference between a musician and an entertainer. This is similar to the differences between the artist, the master and the master artist. Musicians just play music without paying attention to how the audience is responding to them. Entertainers are fully engaged in how the audience responds to them and adjusts their performance accordingly.
A local camera store put on a video competition that I submitted some work to. At first, the employee responsible for the contest was very responsive. Then I sent him the videos I wanted to enter into the competition and he went dark. Of course, I could see that he was opening my emails because today's tracking technology enables this really easily.
In the things I have learned posting content on my personal Facebook page podcast, I outline the fact that most of the people on my friend's list are digital dope fiends. In the video, I also mention that these addicts are ghost watching my videos, but not commenting or liking them because they don't want to give power to the thoughts I present.
People always say you should be out there "networking". The problem with this is that is has nothing to do with being an artist. It has to do with turning your art into product. I'm not going to be delusional and say it doesn't matter, because it does. Who you know, that can help you get to the next level, absolutely matters. But that's where the challenge comes in.
I hear stories all the time about people that feel trapped in their situations. Marriages, relationships, creative situations, jobs, debt. You name it, people are stuck or feel stuck. I have felt stuck many times in my life. Even though my life seems great to other people who observe it, I also feel stuck many times. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, you are always going to find yourself stuck in a situation.
If you’ve listened to my podcast on The Reality of the World Traveler Fantasy, you know I have opinions on all the dopamine chasers that want to travel the world endlessly. Living and working out of my camper, I can definitely see the upside of doing that. You get to have “freedom”. You get to experience new things on a daily basis and you’re not tethered to miserable work-life existence.
If you listen to my podcast you can see that my episodes are very focused. I like this format because it forces me to put all of my thoughts into coherent points, so I'm not just ranting. I do think there is some value in ranting though...The first forty or so episodes of my podcast I never released and they were in the ranting format.
When I woke up this morning, I think I had a nightmare about another Fake Artist making it big. Then words flashed through my head that Donald Trump said in a speech about creating luck. He also mentioned that some people are just "unlucky". I agree with the creating luck part. I think Donald saying some people are just "unlucky" is his way of subjugating the section of the population that gives up on stuff.
People post meme quotes that make unsubstantiated statements all over the internet to make themselves feel better. For example, "There is nothing new under the sun". People use jargon like this because they don't want to put in the deep work and effort required to create something new.
There is in fact a lot of things that have never been done before. As I discuss in my podcast the 10 myths people perpetuate to make themselves feel better, Elon Musk's company Space X is planning a manned mission to Mars. That has never been done before.
I would say about 70% of the people I have met traveling would do so forever if given the opportunity. They are victims of the escapism mentality. I talk about it in my podcast The Reality of the World Traveler Fantasy about the people who are "long term global travelers". They're jaded, disconnected and their only life experience is experiencing life's experiences.
It's not unusual to feel overwhelmed, regardless of who you are. We all have stress in our lives. It doesn't ever seem to go away either. When we accomplish one task, we are furnished with a new one to tackle. If we don't accomplish that task we feel stressed. If we get stressed, we feel like we don't want to take any action.
I purchase subscriptions to all of the digital platforms such as Spotify and Pandora because enduring ads ultimately become mind pollution. I did this a few days ago with YouTube. They have a service called Red which allows you to play all videos ad-free for $9.99 a month. A small price to pay in my opinion.
I love looking at the numbers because they always tell the story. What you're doing right, what you're doing wrong, you know the drill. So in analyzing the numbers from my recent facebook campaign targeting females on dating apps, one of my videos performed better than the other. So which one was it?
I finished my second online course, it's called The Dating App Makeover. It's directed specifically at women looking to improve their online dating app presence to attract more high value males. I'm pretty satisfied with it and I think it can help a lot of women out there who are looking to improve. The long and short of it is that women really don't know how men think or what turns them on and off as it relates to these platforms.
If you are truly creative and let your mind stray without constrictions, you are going to create a shit load of art. It's actually really easy to do. If you're an artist and you experience "writer's block" it means that you are not creating using the right medium. For example, sometimes I have a lot on my mind and want to podcast. Sometimes after a night of excessive drinking I work on visual art or some sort of manual task. This is how my mind copes with that "block".
It's kind of funny to even make that statement "What the future of dating apps should look like" because dating apps were once the future. Although I don't believe in them, I do know how they work and what people, especially women, should be doing on these apps to attract a viable mate. The problem with these apps is not their intent, but the way in which they are trying to bring two people together. Both the processes and outcomes are almost always mismatched. You have a certain thing in mind and then someone totally different shows up.
My first online course, which I have properly named Social Media Dope Fiend Rehab is now live! I will probably play with the pricing and advertisements over the coming weeks, but the bottom line is, it is there for the taking! Basically the goal in this course is to reprogram your mind to understand that you do not need social media in your life and that is actually harming your personal evolution
